There’s a long list of festivals we want to attend in 2025, and Neighbourhood Weekender is first on our list, it’s almost as if we picked the line-up ourselves. Here are 5 artists we absolutely will not be missing.
The K’s
The K’s are a four piece band from Merseyside who formed in 2017 and released their first single “Sarajevo” the same year. They’ve toured almost nonstop ever since, playing everything from intimate pubs to festival main stages. Their debut album “I Wonder If The World Knows?” was released in April 2024, with their second album already set to release in the summer of 2025. Offering lyrics that will resonate with anyone that grew up in a small town dreaming of something bigger, and beats that are sure to get you moving. The K’s make our “must see” list any time we see them on the line up.
Chloe Slater
Chloe blends upbeat, indie rock vibes with deep, relatable lyrics about the struggles of being a young adult in today’s world. “Nothing Shines On This Island”, hits hard with its critique of British politics, whilst “24 Hours”, inspired by the infamous “everyone has the same 24 hours” incident, highlights influencer culture and how disconnected from the real world internet personalities can seem. Chloe wants her music to make a mark on the world and inspire young people to learn more about politics and the issues that affect us all every day. If you want the chance to see her before Truck Festival (which you definitely should), she’s heading out on a UK tour starting in February 2025.
The Royston Club
The Royston Club are making a distinct mark on the indie rock scene, blending emotive song-writing with a bold sound that strikes a chord with their growing fanbase. Self-described as “singalong, catchy, and accessible indie”, their music leaves a lasting impression, guaranteed to have you humming their tunes long after the show. Known for their energetic performances and critically acclaimed discography, the band have quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting rising acts in the UK.
Sunday (1994)
Sunday (1994) began teasing their music in 2023, and they quickly gained attention and built up a dedicated fanbase, with requests to release their songs rushing in. They released their debut single “Tired Boy” in February 2024, an ethereal indie pop song that seems to describe a relationship with someone you just hate to love. The band’s name was inspired by their love for old films, a love which shines through in their music as their songs evoke a whimsical nostalgia that feels both timeless and unique. Their self-titled debut album is one of the best we’ve heard this year and we can’t wait to see what they’ll do next.
Wunderhorse
Initially a solo project, Wunderhorse became a full band in 2021. Since then they have released two albums, completed their own international headline tours, and supported several major acts such as Fontaines D.C. and Sam Fender. Wunderhorse have experienced incredible growth since the release of “Midas” earlier this year, and we’re confident it won’t be long before they’re headlining large festivals. Jacob’s song-writing is packed with emotion, and the band’s ability to seamlessly switch between softer, melodic songs and heavier tracks that hit hard with raw intensity is impressive. Wunderhorse are definitely one to watch as they continue to rise.
