We’re absolutely buzzing to be heading to Hill Farm for the very first time in just a couple of weeks! Home to Truck Festival, it’s long been on our radar as one of the UK’s best festivals for indie lovers — and this year’s lineup looks like the perfect one to dive into.

From iconic names like Blossoms, Franz Ferdinand, and The Last Dinner Party, to one of our personal favourites Wunderhorse, the weekend is packed with must-see sets. We’ve got a feeling this is going to be one of those festivals we’ll talk about for years to come.

One of the standout moments we’re looking forward to is Bloc Party performing their debut album Silent Alarm in full. A defining record of the 2000s indie scene, it’s packed with bangers from start to finish and hearing it live at Truck is going to be something special.

If you haven’t already sorted your Thursday ticket upgrade, we definitely recommend it — this set alone is worth getting there early for.

While the big names always grab attention, one of the best parts of any festival is discovering something new. Whether it’s a set you wander into by chance or an artist you’ve been meaning to check out, those unexpected highlights often end up being the most memorable.
We’ve been digging into the lineup and picked out 8 artists we’re really excited to see. They might not be at the top of the poster, but they’re some of our favourites — and we think they’re well worth adding to your schedule.

1. Gurriers

Gurriers are unlike anything else on the lineup. We’ve seen them open for Inhaler and also caught their headline show — and they always bring an incredible live performance that really gets the crowd fired up. Their energy is infectious, both from the band and the audience.

At Truck Festival, we’re expecting nothing less than a full-on, high-energy set, with Gurriers known for diving into the crowd and sparking wild mosh pits. If you’re after a memorable, electric experience, make sure to catch them.

2. Brogeal

Brogeal deliver a wild mix of Scottish folk and punk that’s both chaotic and captivating. Their live shows are full of raw energy, with traditional instruments like banjos and accordions driving their uniquely raucous sound. It’s folk music, but with a rebellious edge that gets the crowd moving and singing along.

Known for their high-octane performances and infectious enthusiasm, Brogeal create an atmosphere that’s equal parts party and catharsis. If you’re into music that’s bold, emotional, and full of life, their set is one not to miss.

3. Lime Garden

Lime Garden craft dreamy indie-pop with a sharp edge that’s perfect for festival vibes. Their music floats effortlessly between shimmering melodies and punchy rhythms, creating a sound that’s both atmospheric and energetic.

On stage, they have a magnetic presence, drawing you in with infectious hooks and captivating performances. Lime Garden’s set promises to be a standout moment, full of energy and mood that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

4. Slate

Welsh four-piece Slate bring a brooding, intense energy that sets them apart from the crowd. Their gothic-tinged, new-wave sound is driven by heavy guitars and poetic lyricism, striking a balance between raw power and deep introspection. There’s a weight to their music that feels deeply personal — like they mean every single word.

Live, they carry that same emotional punch with an urgent, gripping performance that leaves a real impact. They’re playing on Thursday, and for us, that’s another great reason to head down to Hill Farm early. If you’re into bands that hit hard and linger long after the set ends, Slate should be on your list.

5. Basht.

We’ve seen Basht. a few times now, and every single set has left us more convinced — they’re one of the most exciting young rock bands around right now.

Their sound is big and emotional, with a gritty edge that hits even harder live. Tracks from their latest EP Bitter and Twisted show just how much they’ve evolved, feeling sharper and more focused while still packed with the urgency and heart that made us fans in the first place.

One of the most striking things is how connected they are with their audience. At their shows, the front rows are full of people shouting every word, dancing, jumping — that energy bounces between the band and the crowd in the best way.

Basht. are only getting better, and Truck feels like the perfect place to see them before they break onto much bigger stages.

6. Westside Cowboy

Westside Cowboy have been all we’ve been hearing about lately — easily one of the industry’s best-kept secrets. They recently won Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition and played the festival itself, so it’s clear they’re right on the edge of something big.

With only three tracks out and a debut EP coming next month, the hype is real — and deserved. They describe their sound as “Britainicana”, their own term for blending American roots music with a distinctly English perspective. It’s alternative, emotional, and deeply personal, constantly evolving rather than sitting still.

Truck Festival might be one of the last chances to see them in a more intimate setting. Don’t miss it.

7. Cardinals

One of our absolute favourite bands, Cardinals bring a unique twist to indie rock with their blend of shoegaze and post-punk — and an unexpected star: the accordion. Far from a quirky add-on, the accordion adds a sweeping, emotional layer that gives their songs a haunting, almost folk-like depth. It’s this detail that really sets them apart and gives Cardinals a sound all their own.

While their setlist now features just a few released songs, Cardinals have been playing a lot of unreleased material that we’re excited to come out — for now, we’ll just have to keep seeing them live to hear those songs.

8. Lambrini Girls

Headlining The Nest stage, Lambrini Girls bring a fun, rebellious energy that’s infectious from the first note. Their sound blends gritty punk vibes with catchy indie-pop hooks, creating anthems perfect for singing along loud and proud.

While they’re not on the main stage, they’re absolutely worth seeking out — their unapologetically bold attitude and energetic performances make them a highlight of the festival’s diverse lineup. Their music carries a DIY spirit and fearless charm that connects instantly with the crowd, making every show feel like a wild, unforgettable party.

If you’re looking for raw, vibrant, and full-of-personality live music, don’t miss Lambrini Girls — they’re the kind of band that leaves you buzzing long after the set ends.

Truck Festival promises an incredible weekend packed with both legendary acts and rising stars. From Bloc Party’s full Silent Alarm set to the infectious energy of bands like Basht., Slate, and Lambrini Girls, there’s something for every indie music lover to get excited about. Whether you’re there for the headliners or hunting out hidden gems, Hill Farm is set to deliver an unforgettable experience.
